A workplace emergency is an unforeseen situation that threatens your employees, customers, or the public; disrupts or shuts down your operations; or causes physical or environmental damage. Emergencies may include: floods, hurricanes, fires, chemical spills, or, workplace violence.

The best way to respond to an emergency is to prepare before it happens.  Does your Disaster & Business Continuity Plan include the necessary elements to help you survive and recuperate from natural or man-made disasters? 

Bring a copy of your disaster plan and find out if it will allow you to adequately recover from a disaster.

• What is the difference between mitigation and recovery strategy?
• How do you begin writing a Plan?
• How do you implement a Plan?
• Should you test and evaluate your Plan? How?
• What resources are available to help you with your Plan?
